RE: SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error ~Ben Asakilyings 3.Feb.03 08:00 PM a Web browser Domino Server 6.0Windows 2000
I (= the dom server) tried it over several hours, there are even more domains, which do not accept the smtp trials.
Must have sth to do with our firewall...
Our domserver must send through a DMZ and has no qualified IP adress.
To solve this, I change the config in the clients location document (mail tab):
Send outgoing mail -> "directly to Internet".
In this case our ISP is used to send the internet mails. But now I have to enter th IP of our notes server (or which domain name can I use??) into the field "Internet domain for Notes addresses when connecting directly to the Internet). Otherwise all members of our domino domain get my eMails only via our ISP, right?
OR... is there a much more elegant & better way??
(As you see - I'm quite a rookie with mailing tasks... usually I'm responsible for domino web designs and web server administration...)
